Complete renovation of an apartment in the centre

145 sq.m.  | Year 2011

Each successful project is born from an encounter and exchange between people, and their different needs and sensitivities, which ultimately converge into one single direction.

The renovation project involved an accommodation of the early Twenties, located in the heart of the city, that was very bright and with great potential, but strangled by an incongruous distribution of space.

The transformation entailed a process to identify the areas that could be completely reshaped and the characterizing elements that could be revived in a renewed context. The complete redistribution of the spaces thus led to structural changes, and to the construction of new volumes and new geometries within the existing space.

A special type of stratified glazing was experimented for this project, with a gauze fabric of different textures placed within, in order to obtain gradual and progressive shading effects.

The new kitchen is therefore separated from the entrance with an "ad hoc” glazing, through which filtered light passes in an interplay of vision and privacy; the same applies to the shower - wellness areas adjacent to the master bedroom.

The living area has doubled, as have the storage and stowage areas and the service areas.

In this fruitful dialogue between old and new, the result is a fluid, enjoyable space, which can satisfy all the client’s needs. The home’s soul exudes from all the details and in the feeling it provides.
